About the Foundation

What is RUHA Life Foundation?

RUHA Life Foundation is a non-political, non-profit, non-governmental charitable society registered with the RJSC under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Registration No. S-15411/2026). We work in education, healthcare, emergency ambulance and burial services, disaster relief, care for orphans, widows and the elderly, skills and livelihoods, and community development.

Where do you work?

Our working area covers all of Bangladesh, and worldwide where permitted by law. Our head office is in Gulshan 1, Dhaka, and our operational office is in Boalmari, Faridpur.

Is the Foundation political or affiliated with any party?

No. The Foundation is strictly non-political. We serve people in need regardless of race, religion, politics or geography.

Donations & Zakat

How can I donate?

You can give by bKash, Nagad, Rocket or bank transfer to accounts in the Foundation’s name. After paying, complete the confirmation form on our Donate page so we can record your gift and send a receipt.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. Every contribution is recorded in our books and an official receipt or digital confirmation is issued with the date, amount, method and reference.

Can I give my Zakat through the Foundation?

Yes. Choose “Zakat” as the fund when you donate. Zakat is recorded separately and directed only to eligible recipients in accordance with Shariah. You can use our Zakat calculator to work out how much is due.

Can I choose which programme my donation supports?

Yes. Select any of our eight programmes, or choose “Where it’s needed most” to let us direct your gift to the most urgent need.

Can I donate from outside Bangladesh?

Under the Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Act, 2016, we can accept foreign contributions only after registration with the NGO Affairs Bureau. Please contact us before sending a gift from abroad.

Can I get a refund?

Donations are generally non-refundable, but genuine mistakes — such as a wrong amount or a duplicate payment — reported within 7 days can be refunded. Please read our Donation & Refund Policy.

Membership & volunteering

Who can become a member?

Any citizen of Bangladesh aged 18 or above may apply for General Membership. Young people aged 18–26 may join as Youth Members. Lifetime, Donor and Honorary membership are also available. All applications are reviewed by the Executive Committee.

How much does membership cost?

General Members pay an admission fee of Tk 1,000 and Tk 250 per month. Youth Members pay Tk 200 and Tk 50 per month (which may be waived). Lifetime Membership is a one-time contribution of Tk 2,00,000. Donor and Honorary members pay no fee. Fees may be revised by the Executive Committee.

Why do I need to name a nominee?

Our Rules require every member to nominate one person who may succeed to their membership. You can change your nominee at any time by writing to the General Secretary.

Can people under 18 volunteer?

Yes — as Junior Volunteers, with written consent from a parent or guardian. Junior Volunteers pay no fee and can apply for Youth Membership at 18.

Getting help

How can I request help for myself or someone else?

Use the contact form and choose “Request for assistance”, or call our office. Please include the location and a short description of the need. Requests are reviewed confidentially and support depends on eligibility and available funds.
